David Byrne Announces Another North American Tour

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Nov 24, 2008

If you’ve been feeling a bit ripped that David Byrne hasn’t recently swung by your hometown, you’ll be pleased to know that the Talking Head has announced a pile of new North American dates. Along with several added tour stops in the U.S., Byrne will now be hitting up Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton this December on the second North American leg of his "Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno” tour.

As previously reported, the live dates come in support of Byrne and Eno’s recent album, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, and feature Byrne doing songs from the Eno-produced Talking Heads albums (More Songs About Buildings and Food, Fear of Music, and Remain In Light), as well as those from the duo’s 1981 collaboration, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.

The shows are also an attempt to "draw a line linking this new material with what we did 30 years ago,” Byrne recently said in a statement. However, Eno will still not be joining him on the road.

The tour announcement comes as the physical version of Everything That Happens Will Happen Today is set to hit store shelves on Tuesday (November 25), and Eno and Byrne gear up to start shipping out the deluxe edition of the album. Available exclusively at the duo’s website, everythingthathappens.com, the deluxe version features four exclusive bonus tracks, a short film about the album, a miniature hardbound book, a screensaver app and some pretty fancy-looking packaging. You can order it here.
