Published Sep 25, 2012On Saturday (September 22), Pop Montreal hosted its Pop vs. Jock charity basketball game, which featured musicians including Win and Will Butler of Arcade Fire and Nikolai Fraiture of the Strokes. The aforementioned artists helped out during the halftime performance by David Byrne, when he played a slightly strange version of the disco hit "That's the Way (I Like It)."
This version of the classic KC and the Sunshine Band song is, as far as well can tell from the the shaky fan-shot footage, basically identical to the original. What makes unique are the ridiculous dance moves, the backup vocals courtesy of basketball players, and the distant image of Regine Chassagne dancing in a mascot costume.
The halftime performance also reportedly included "96 Tears."
