Before he passed away earlier this year, David Bowie co-wrote a stage adaptation of The Man Who Fell to Earth. It opened last December under the name Lazarus, and now music from the production will be treated to a proper release.
Lazarus Cast Album will arrive as a 2-CD and 3-LP set on October 21 through ISO/RCA Records.
Included on the compilation are Bowie's final studio recordings, "No Plan," "Killing a Little Time" and "When I Met You." These songs were recorded co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti, and feature the same band that accompanied the singer on Blackstar.
The Blackstar version of "Lazarus" also appears on the upcoming release, in addition to cast recordings of classics like "The Man Who Sold the World," "Changes," "Life on Mars?" and "Heroes."
As previously reported, the show was a theatrical interpretation of Walter Tevis's 1963 novel The Man Who Feel to Earth. Bowie himself starred in the 1976 film adaptation of the same story, which is currently getting treated to another theatrical run and an accompanying soundtrack release.
