Delving even deeper into the vaults of the late, great David Bowie, rare and unreleased recordings, including a cover of Frank Sinatra's "My Way," will appear in an upcoming BBC Four music documentary about the artist.

As NME reports, the music will be included in the next episode of The People's History of Pop, a four-part mini-series exploring music fans' memories from the years 1956 to 1996.

A spokesperson for the BBC noted that the special will contain "some rare and special Bowie material." This apparently includes the cover of Sinatra's "My Way," an interpretation of Claude Francois's "Comme d'Habitude" with lyrics by Paul Anka, and an demo version of signature single "Space Oddity" with alternate lyrics.

As to how the songs made it into the broadcast, show host Danny Baker was given access to the Thin White Duke's vaults by Bowie biographer Kevin Cann.

While songs from the vaults has leaked onto YouTube over the years, as evidenced by the stream of Bowie's "My Way" down below, this will be the first official airing of the material.

The Bowie episode of The People's History of Pop airs in July. The program will also touch on the music of T. Rex's Marc Bolan, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley and the Northern Soul scene.

The first episode, which premiered in April, focused on the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
