David Bowie to Release Deluxe Station to Station Reissue This Fall

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Jul 2, 2010

We haven't heard much from David Bowie in recent years. Since his last record, 2003's Reality, the iconic Brit has given us a handful of compilations and reissues, and this September, he'll offer his latest in the form of a new, special-edition version of his 1976 album Station to Station.

The album, which is set to include a number of juicy bonuses, will come in three versions. The first is a three-CD set, with the original album accompanied by Bowie's oft-bootlegged show Live Nassau Coliseum '76, which spans across the latter two discs. The second is a five-CD collection that will include the above, plus an un-tracklisted five-song CD of singles versions of some of the album tracks, and a 5.1 Surround Sound DVD of the original album. A final version of the album will be issued on deluxe vinyl, and will include, like the five-CD version, an essay on the album by Cameron Crowe, postcards featuring never-before-seen photos of Bowie constructing the album, a replica backstage pass, a replica biography and lots more fan-club-related activity.

All three versions are set to drop September 20 in the UK via EMI. No North American release date for the reissue has been announced.
