David Bowie Digs into Archives for New Book

Okay, so we never got that Lady Gaga collaboration we were hoping for/dreading, but this has still been a good year for David Bowie fans. Hot on the heels of his deluxe Station to Station reissue, the Thin White Duke has announced that he will be releasing a new book, Bowie: Object.

According to an update on his official website, the book "is a collection of pieces from the Bowie archive, wherein, for the first time, fans and all those interested in popular culture will have the opportunity to understand more about the Bowie creative process and his impact on modern popular music."

It's primarily a picture book, and contains photos of "100 fascinating items that give an insight into the life of one of the most unique music and fashion icons in history." Alongside these pictures is "insightful, witty and personal text written by Bowie himself."

You can see one of the objects above: a 35 mm photograph slide taken by Bowie in 1975. That leaves 99 more objects to wait for. There's currently no projected release date for the book, but stay tuned for updates.

Thanks to TwentyFourBit for the heads-up.
