David Banner

The Greatest Story Ever Told

BY Tara MuldoonPublished Sep 25, 2008

The Greatest Story Ever Told feels like total album filler. While no one will claim David Banner can rap, he has the ingredients that would make one think he could put a song together: confidence and great connections. Unfortunately, it fails, hard. This album has an all-star line-up, including Snoop, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne, yet none of them stand out. Even the token inspirational song, in this case "Hold On,” only motivates me to turn it off. David Banner scores points for being the blandest rapper of our time. While many people know his name, not many know an actual song he’s been on. The Greatest Story Ever Told represents this fully — the CD works as background music but isn’t worth going out of your way to hear by any means.
