Dave Grohl Surprised a New York Nurse with a Personal "Everlong" Performance

From "My Hero" to "Times Like These," Foo Fighters material has been a popular pick when it comes to songs of hope and resolve in the face of a pandemic, and Dave Grohl got the chance to thank a frontline worker with a personal performance.

TJ Riley — an emergency and trauma nurse at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, New York — was featured as Jimmy Kimmel's #HealthCareHero on last night's broadcast (April 27). Riley joined the broadcast from his home, where he has been recovering from COVID-19, entirely unaware that Grohl would soon appear on the video call.

Riley was admittedly "a little out of [his] mind" when the rock icon appeared onscreen, but soon got to live out every Grohl fan's dream when he was treated to an acoustic performance of "Everlong."

You can watch that in the player below. Kimmel also made sure Riley also received $10,000 and gift packages for every nurse in his department care of Life Is Good.

Grohl and his Foo Fighters bandmates recently finished recording a new album and also rescheduled their "Van Tour."
