Foo Fighters headlined Ottawa's RBC Bluesfest last night (July 10), marking the band's first trip to the nation's capital in over a decade. It was a day that one area musician won't soon forget, after running into Dave Grohl himself while playing his tunes downtown.

Yesterday morning, Ottawa's Christina Leigh tweeted at an unverified Grohl Twitter account (which has since been suspended) that she would be busking in the city's Byward Market from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., playing Foo Fighters songs ahead of the group's show at LeBreton Flats that evening.

As Leigh told CFRA, she set up her guitar and amplifier at the corner of York and Williams streets, pinning a large cardboard sign to her mic stand that read, "Dave Grohl, pls notice me."

"I'm just pulling my guitar out, I had just taken a picture of my funny sign, and my boyfriend just goes, 'Christina, look,'" Leigh told the station. "I look up and there's Dave Grohl — his daughter had pointed out my sign and he was just sitting there, giggling."

Grohl then handed his daughter his phone to snap a photo in front of the sign, while Leigh ended up getting a selfie of her own which you can see above. The two chatted quickly before Grohl returned to touring about the market.

"I think I swore," Leigh recalled of her reaction. "I was like, 'If he does show up, he shows up,' but I didn't think he would actually do it. This is just something silly."
