Dave Grohl Gets All Fanboy About Black Mountain

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Aug 15, 2016

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has never been shy about sharing his new favourite musical finds with the world, especially those that come from the Great White North as he did with Baptists drummer Nick Yacyshyn in 2014. His latest phenomenal find? West Coast rock vets Black Mountain.

Grohl took to the Foo Fighters' Twitter account over the weekend to deliver a message of thanks to the band for penning the song "Florian Saucer Attack," from Black Mountain's latest LP IV.

"Every so often a song comes around that takes you by the ear, pulls you to your knees, and makes you beg for its claws to release you from its infectious grasp," Grohl wrote. "Thank you, Black Mountain for the spark. Now, where's that guitar of mine..."

Seemingly more inspired, this could mean Grohl's "secret project" with Butch Vig may arrive sooner than we think. See Grohl's message and the video for Black Mountain's "Florian Saucer Attack" below.
