BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 13, 2012

After picking up five Grammys with the Foo Fighters last night (February 12), Dave Grohl has released the trailer for his upcoming Sound City documentary. As previously reported, the film will feature Los Angeles's Sound City studio, where Nirvana's Nevermind was recorded.

Grohl described the project with the following statement: "That funky old place had the best drum room in world. The drum sound at the beginning of 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' -- that's Sound City. I decided to make a film about that feeling you get when you put five guys in a room, hit 'record' and the hair on the back of your neck stands up."

Sound City features numerous musical icons, including Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Fleetwood Mac, Trent Reznor and Josh Homme just to name a few. The clip only runs for 25 seconds but is sure to heighten anticipation for the flick, which has yet to get an official release date.
