Sum 41 are gearing up for a new album, and their comeback has just gotten a little more promising, since it seems that guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh has rejoined the band.
He made his return on Wednesday night, when the band appeared at the Alternative Press Music Awards in Cleveland to perform a handful of songs.
It seems that this wasn't simply a one-off, since Baksh posted a (since-deleted) photo on Instagram with the caption, "Yes yes y'all I'm back. Sum 41! Thanks to all of the crew, band and fans for making me feel so welcome." Hopefully the fact that he deleted the image doesn't mean that there has been a change of plans or some sort of misunderstanding.
He also posted various other images and messages expressing excitement about the performance:
None of Sum 41's online accounts have been updated to reflect the personnel change, but we're guessing that Baksh will be involved in the creation of the band's upcoming album, which are they funding with a PledgeMusic campaign.
This week's award show performance was Sum 41's first performance since 2013. Baksh hadn't played with the band since 2006. Watch his return below.
