Darkside's Dave Harrington Launches '12 Days of Remixes' Series, Reworks Michael Jackson

Spacey duo Darkside have called it quits (at least for now), but the members have been keeping busy. While Nicolas Jaar has spent the year making film scores, releasing surprise albums and continuing his Nymphs series, Dave Harrington has just announced plans to roll out a series of tracks called 12 Days of Remixes.

The project is a play on the daily gift-giving from "The 12 Days of Christmas." For the first 12 days of December, Harrington will be sharing unreleased remixes and edits that he's included in recent DJ sets. This includes reworkings of material by Beyoncé, Nils Frahm, Tyondai Braxton, Empress Of, Steve Reich and others.

The launch the series, Harrington has shared a version of Michael Jackson's "Human Nature," plus a remix of Other People x Sunhouse Drum Corps' "OP #100." Hear those tracks below. Judging by the grid-style artwork, there will be 25 remixes released in these 12 days.

These 12 Days of Remixes will lead up to the second annual "Dave Harrington & Friends Holiday Spectacular" show on December 13 at (Le) Poisson Rouge in New York. "Friends" at the show include members of Real Estate, Tokyo Police Club, the Antlers, A Sunny Day in Glasgow, A Place to Bury Strangers, Dirty Projectors, Small Black, Tanlines, Yeasayer, the War on Drugs and more. These guests will sing holiday tunes with backing from Harrington and a house band.

Expect the 12 Days of Remixes playlist below to continue filling up in the coming days.
