The Darkness Serving Up 'Hot Cakes' This Summer

Glammy UK rockers the Darkness have been promising fans new material for over a year now, but the wait for the group's impending third full-length is almost over. The band have announced that the album will be called Hot Cakes, and, at least overseas, it will arrive August 20.

UPDATE: The album will be released in North America on August 21.

A press release offers that the collection, which will see release through PIAS, is "a musical explosion of multi-platinum rock riffs, pop hooks, and the best infectious choruses and balls-out stadium anthems."

A tracklisting has yet to arrive, but presumably the troupe's recent triumphant '80s rock anthem"Nothing's Going to Stop Us" will pop on the platter.

As previously reported, the album was tracked last January at a Nashville recording facility. It was produced by the Darkness's Justin and Dan Hawkins and collaborator Nick Brine, and was mixed by Bob Ezrin.

This will be the Darkness's first album since 2005's One Way Ticket to Hell…and Back.

The group have a number of dates lined up around Australia, the U.S. and Europe this summer, which you can see here.
