The Darcys have finally hit their stride. After their lead singer up and left the band, there was some regrouping to do, which finally paid off with the recent release of two records for Arts & Crafts -- one being their self-titled debut, the other a complete reinterpretation of Steely Dan's Aja, both of which were given away for free online. It's a strange formula for success, but it couldn't be working better, and you can tell that the Darcys couldn't be working harder. Their midnight set built up an incredible wall of sound, blending good old-fashioned indie rock with more progressive, experimental vibes. "Shaking Down the Old Bones" stole the spotlight as the set's highlight, though nothing fell flat. As one of CMW's highly anticipated acts, the Darcys definitely didn't disappoint, leaving everyone excited for this Toronto band's future.
