Coming hot on the heels of last year's Misfits reunion, Glenn Danzig has announced he's returning with an all-new Danzig album. What's more, he's also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the mighty Danzig III: How the Gods Kill with a series of upcoming live shows.

Danzig made the reveal today (March15) on his website, stating that the first new album of all-original material since Deth Red Sabaoth will arrive in mid-May. At this point, there is no firm release date or title for the upcoming album, but details are promised to be revealed shortly.

UPDATE (3/20, 3 p.m. EDT): Danzig has now revealed his new album is called Black Laden Crown. That's its cover art above, and it's expected to arrive in May via Evilive Records/Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The album was recorded alongside longtime guitarist Tommy Victor and Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo.

While this indeed will mark the first album of all-new material since Deth Red Sabaoth, Danzig's last full-length was the 2015 covers collection Skeletons.

As for the tour in support of How the Gods Kill, the post promises a "handful of shows this summer," which will see Danzig perform "many songs" (though maybe not all) from the beloved 1992 album.

Of course, stay tuned for further details as they become available.
