The Danks Return with New Album for Hidden Pony Records
According to Urban Dictionary, the word "gank" can either refer to stealing or to ganging up on a player in an online videogame. It also serves as the curious title of the latest album from Atlantic Canadian indie pop-rock outfit the Danks, who will release GANK on June 11 through Hidden Pony Records.

The album was recorded in Kensington Market in Toronto with Jeff McMurich (Fucked Up, Constantines, Owen Pallett) handling engineering duties and Ian McGettigan (Joel Plaskett, Two Hours Traffic) behind the boards. This resulted in what a press release describes as "11 no-nonsense pop blasts that barely clock in at 30 minutes."

For a taste of the album, go to the Danks' website to stream "Experimental Fiction" or download it in exchange for an email address.

The tracklist is below and scroll past that to see the Prince Edward Island band's currently confirmed Canadian tour schedule, which includes a few Ontario shows in the next couple of months.
