Daniel Romano will release his latest album Finally Free next week, but before it arrives, he's teased another new track and paired it with a matching music video.
Appropriately for a song called "The Long Mirror of Time," the video reflects back to a bygone era. The retro-looking clip follows a couple into their totally groovy '60s pad, where a mysterious moon man meets an unfortunate end.
"'The Long Mirror of Time' is a song celebrating the unconformities of the natural and supernatural worlds," Romano tells Exclaim! "The tangible world can often suppress our inherent instincts to shift our shape and transcend our surroundings. The long mirror of time is in-fact not a mirror but a passage of prisms. This song is for those who do not see themselves in these monotonous rays of light and instead remain unseen or further yet, push on into a realm imperceptible to those trapped in the mirror. The long mirror of time reveals the prism faces, but not mine."
Watch the video for "The Long Mirror of Time" below.
Finally Free is out November 30 via New West Records/You've Changed Records. Romano has a pile of tour dates coming up in support of the album, and you can see all those here.
