Daniel Isaiah Readies Debut Album for Secret City Records

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 3, 2011

Multi-talented Montrealer Daniel Isaiah is an award-winning filmmaker, as well as a veteran of bands like the Harry Rags, Shoot the Moon and Percy Farm. Now, the songwriter has signed to Secret City Records and is getting ready to drop his debut solo album, High Twilight, on June 7.

A press release promises that the disc is "an ambitious work that makes no reservations about diving into big classic themes like love and death, sex and myth." It features notable guest spots from Plants and Animals' Warren Spicer, Charlotte Loseth (aka Sea Oleena) and Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra drummer Dave Payant.

Stylistically, the album apparently ranges from "Americana to French chanson and even a touch of Dixieland." Listen to the wistful, folksy title track over here to get an idea of what's in store.
