Daniel, Fred & Julie Announce Canadian Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished Feb 25, 2010

After recently calling the self-titled debut from Daniel, Fred & Julie "a super-memorable campfire sing-along," the album is definitely one of our top choices for timeless folk classics this spring. The record was compiled by Attack in Black's Daniel Romano, who enlisted the help of Fred Squire and Julie Doiron, and these three apparently got along really well, as they've announced a ten-day tour in support of the release.

With the help of opening act Baby Eagle, the three musicians will spend April driving around Eastern Canada, with shows in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, as well as in Quebec and Ontario. The tour kicks off in Fredericton, NB on April 7, and concludes in Montreal on April 17.

On top of that, Romano hinted that this might not be the last we hear from this collaboration. When asked if they'd make another album in a recent Exclaim! interview, he said, "I can see it happening because there's a tour planned and that was more than I was ever expecting with this project. It was fun to do and there are a lot of old words out there that could be brought back to the attention of people who might not know about them. And it's always fun to write songs with words that already exist, because it's not as hard!"

Daniel, Fred & Julie is available now from You've Changed.
