The momentum keeps on building for Vancouver indie folk favourite Dan Mangan. His 2009 album, Nice, Nice, Very Nice, is shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, and he recently released the record in the U.S. through Arts & Crafts. This fall, he'll be heading across Canada once again, with a tour that runs from Montreal all the way to the West coast.
The outing is called the "Peculiar Travel Suggestions" tour, and it eschews club shows in favour of halls, theatres and churches. In a press release, Mangan said, "It's refreshing to take the show to some alternative venues and push for a more intimate and unique concert experience."
The first half of the tour will be opened by the Harbour Coats, featuring Bry Webb of the (possibly-dufunct) Constantines. The second half will be supported by the Burning Hell.
This Canadian jaunt will follow a lengthy U.S. outing, as well as a number of European shows.
