Dan Deacon to Toronto: Return My Green Skull or I'm Not Coming Back

BY Josiah HughesPublished Oct 14, 2010

Beloved electronic geek Dan Deacon recently performed at Toronto, ON's Great Hall as part of his joint tour with equally freaky noise rock duo Lightning Bolt. The show went off without a hitch on Tuesday (October 12), but the much-loved green skull that Deacon has used as a stage prop for years was stolen. To make matters worse, two of his tires were slashed.

Taking to his Facebook page, an understandably upset Deacon revealed that he will not take this robbery lightly.

He wrote the following statement:

Toronto: If you know who took the green skull please have them return it to 225 sterling road unit 23, toronto or email primarycolourspresents@gmail.com. no questions asked. I'd really like it back. It's been a part of my set for 6 years. If it doesn't get return I won't return to toronto. Hopefully it turns up.

He later wrote, "Canada: what's up? Two slashed tires AND the skull stolen."

Fortunately for fans in Albany, NY, Deacon was able to get the tires repaired in time. Still, if Toronto fans of his bizarre, cerebral brand of dance music want to enjoy his live show again, they'd better team up to locate the green skull. It almost reads like a rough draft for an indie-friendly Indiana Jones movie.
