Published Nov 30, 2009While they've just announced a planned collaboration with legendary graphic novelist Alan Moore, animated pop experimenters Gorillaz have now revealed the details for their third full-length. According to mastermind Damon Albarn, the group are putting the finishing touches on the record now.
In an interview with the Guardian [via TwentyFourBit], Albarn said that the group have "nearly finished" the new record, calling it "the most pop record [he's] ever made." If that's not enough to make it seem like a real-life LP, he also confirmed that the album's title is Plastic Beach, and that it'll feature guest appearances from the likes of Lou Reed, Snoop Dogg, R&B legend Bobby Womack, the Bee Gees' Barry Gibb, Mos Def and, as previously mentioned, the Horrors.
Albarn did not reveal when the album is set for release. He did, however, mention that he's also recorded an album with Flea and Fela Kuti drummer Tony Allen. Seriously, dude gets around.
