Rising rap star DaBaby was arrested last night (January 2) in Miami.

He was detained by police and booked into Miami-Dade County jail after being questioned about an alleged robbery.

According to TMZ, the robbery took place yesterday around 12:30 p.m. local time, after the rapper claimed he was shorted $10,000 USD by a show promoter. DaBaby allegedly robbed the promoter of $80 USD, an iPhone 7 and a credit card, and then doused him with apple juice.

While DaBaby was detained in conjunction with the alleged robbery, authorities discovered a Texas-issued warrant on battery charges.

He was then transferred to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

A spokesperson said he would remain in custody until further notice.

DaBaby was cited for possession and resisting an officer last month. He was released without an official arrest.
