D-Sisive "Adam [rip.mca 1964-2012]"

The recent passing of the Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch, aka MCA, had a profound effect on many, with tributes and praise to the late trailblazer continuing to pour in. Toronto spitter D-Sisive has now weighed in with a new track that tips its hat to the philanthropic, gurff-throated Beastie called "Adam [rip.mca 1964-2012]".

The eight-minute song is a cut-and-paste piece that collects interview clips with Yauch and some D-Sisive-delivered versions of some of MCA's choicest lines. D-Sisive also drops heartfelt lines atop the "High Plains Drifter" beat about how crushed he was to learn via text about MCA's death.

"Teardrops for the death of a man I never met / but his movement changed my life," D-Sisive rhymes. From there, the smooth-voiced Canadian rapper puts a spin on familiar tracks like "So Whatcha Want," "Root Down" and "Pass the Mic."
