Curren$y Signs to Warner, Preps New Covert Coup EP

Louisiana rapper Curren$y is experiencing a fruitful period in his recording career. Last year, the prolific hip-hopper unleashed the genre-crossing one-two punch of Pilot Talk I & II, and just a couple of weeks ago, the dude dropped his Return to the Winner's Circle mixtape. Proving he's one of the hardest working rhymers in the game, Curren$y has announced yet another release, but this one will come via a new major label home.

XXL reports that Curren$y has linked up with Warner Bros. Records for his latest affair, an EP titled Covert Coup. The collection, which is set for an April 20 release, is said to feature ten to 12 songs produced by the Alchemist. A proper tracklisting has yet to appear.

The rapper has also apparently inked a distribution deal with Warner for his imprint, Jets International. Curren$y has plans to issue discs by his buddies Fiend and Young Roddy, both of whom appeared on Pilot Talk I & II.

UPDATE: Curren$y has announced a North American tour, which includes several Canadian dates. Click here to peep the sked.
