Fans of the Cure may have been lucky enough to catch the gloomy rockers recently in festival settings at Riot Fest, Lollapalooza and Osheaga, but Robert Smith and the gang have now announced plans for their first proper North American tour since 2008.

The 25-date trek will kick off in the spring of 2016, though the band have only teased a handful dates so far. Stops in Los Angeles (May 22), Chicago (June 10) and New York (June 18) have been confirmed, with a full itinerary expected to be revealed in January.

Also joining the bill are Scottish post-punks the Twilight Sad, who will serve as the opening band on the tour.

See the brief list of upcoming dates below, and stay tuned for forthcoming details and added dates.

Tour dates:

05/22 Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Bowl
06/10 Chicago, IL - UIC Pavilion
06/18 New York, NY - Madison Square Garden
