CSS Announce <i>La Liberación</i>, Reveal North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 13, 2011

Those hoping to hear some new tunes from sex-obsessed Brazilian dance rockers CSS are going to go gonzo over this: the band have just announced La Liberación, their first album since 2008's Donkey.

Recorded in their studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil, La Liberación is primed to further explore the wriggly, booty-shakin', baby-makin' music of their first two albums, and features outside contributions from Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and Ratatat.

Outrageous CSS frontwoman Lovefoxx believes the disc to be quite the rager as well. "My mantra for this record is 'Rip Shit' and that is what we do on La Liberación," she said in a statement.

On top of their energetic musical aesthetic, the band are further exploring their distribution options this time around. While Sub Pop released their earlier efforts, the band's new album will come via V2/Cooperative Music Network/Downtown in the UK on August 29. Unfortunately, no North American release date has been announced yet.

Neither a tracklisting nor cover has been revealed, but the band will be touring North America with Sleigh Bells this spring, including a stop in Toronto on May 17. Be sure to keep an ear out for those sexy new jams, Hogtown.
