Cryptopsy have shared details of a new album. The Montreal metal vets will deliver As Gomorrah Burns on September 8 via Nuclear Blast, marking their first for the label.

The band's eighth studio LP marks their first full-length in 11 years, following their 2012 self-titled effort.

In the years since, the quartet worked at shorter lengths for EP series The Book of Suffering, featuring 2015's Tome I and 2018's Tome II

Vocalist Matt McGachy shares that Cryptopsy have been at work on As Gomorrah Burns for the past five years, saying, "It's the perfect medley of old school Cryptopsy with a few modern twists. We've leaned heavily into the grooves and let some of the riffs breathe just a little more than we have on the past few releases."

You can hear what the frontman means with new arrival "In Abeyance," found below alongside a visual helmed by Chris Kells. McGachy shares that the song is "conceptually about feeling isolated while being emerged in a new environment, the hunt for a sense of belonging while mourning a previous life."
