Crimson Sweet Blood Transfusion

With a sound that would be bastardised on any format but vinyl, New York’s Crimson Sweet’s latest release is a three-song seven-inch that sounds like it could very well have been produced in 1977. With a dirty, punk-influenced rock sound that is a throwback to groups like the Avengers and Middle Class, the band sound as rough as one would expect from gloriously sloppy influences. With songs about making love to your hand that somehow come across as beautifully dark and poetic, Crimson Sweet may play dirty, but they play with a heart and intelligence that endears them instantly to the listener.
