Creature

Creature are infectious, in an epidemic-of-good-vibes kind of way. Even when challenged to play a room where people are usually eating brunch, they made the creaky floors and wooden chairs around the Gladstone Hotel feel like the most fun you've ever had at a club. Lead singer Lisa Iwanicki is explosively energetic with a stage presence both thoughtful and terrifying. Genuine band mate chemistry helped make "Prom Prom" and "So High" anthems of the night, and the cheeky back-and-forth vocals on "Bridget Bardot" revealed that the band have a sinister side. Just when it seemed the audience couldn't be more enamoured with this group, a keytar appeared in Iwanicki's arms. And with that, Creature lived up to the hype.
