Crammed Discs Compile Congotronics Series into Vinyl Box Set
Congolese street heroes Konono N°1 have hit our radar big time in the last few months with the announcement of a world tour, new album and Herbie Hancock collaboration. As if that weren't enough, their label, Crammed Discs, has revealed a deluxe box set collecting Konono N°1 and their Congolese peers in the long-running Congotronics series.

Due this summer, the limited Congotronics box set will compile all five releases in the series: Konono N°1's Congotronics, Congotronics 2: Buzz'n'Rumble From the Urb'n'Jungle, Kasai Allstars' In the 7th Moon, the Chief Turned into a Swimming Fish and Ate the Head of His Enemy by Magic, Staff Benda Bilili's Très Très Fort and Konono N°1's brand new double-LP, Assume Crash Position.

And if that's not enough for you, the box will also include a Congotronics photo book, a reusable 2GB USB drive with nine videos and MP3s of all five albums and a seven-inch record featuring two new tracks from Kasai Allstars, including a collaboration with Akron/Family. The box will contain all new artwork, which can be viewed here.

The limited Congotronics Vinyl Box Set is currently available for pre-order here. All pre-orders will be given a download code for each album on May 15, more than three weeks prior to the Assume Crash Position release on June 30.
