Counterparts Sign to New Damage/Pure Noise for New LP

New Damage Records' already impressive roster of Canadian hardcore bands just got a little deeper, with the label announcing that it's inked seasoned Ontario crushers Counterparts to a new record deal.

A press release confirms that the Hamilton melodic hardcore crew are now part of the New Damage family in Canada and have also signed to Pure Noise Records in the U.S. Their last two albums, 2011's The Current Will Carry Us and 2013's The Difference Between Hell and Home, had been issued through Chicago-based imprint Victory Records.

"It's been a long time coming, but we're happy to be back on a Canadian label," Counterparts vocalist Brendan Murphy said in a statement. "New Damage is the best Canadian label in the game right now, and it's taken years, but we're finally a part of the family. Even though we're rarely in the country, Canada is extremely important to us. Thanks to everyone for sticking by us over the past few years."

Though still in the developing stages, the band are expected to deliver their fourth full-length for their new label homes later this year. The record is reportedly called Tragedy Will Find Us. You can sample a live performance of new tune "Burn," filmed during a recent appearance at L.A.'s Chain Reaction venue, down below.

Counterparts are currently on the road with Defeater. While the trip is down in the U.S., you can peep the show specifics down below.
