Corrections House

"Hoax the System" (video)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 17, 2013

Last month, members of Neurosis, Eyehategod, Yakuza and Nachtmystium announced they'd joined forces as Corrections House and would soon be touring the U.S. and releasing some material. The first taste of the band has arrived in video form for new track "Hoax the System," and it's a crusher.

Sonically, the track homes in on industrial percussive snares, droning doom chords and distorted vocal shards calling for a full-on revolt against the powers that be. It will apparently be issued on a limited edition 7-inch through members Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium) and Bruce Lamont's (Yakuza/Bloodiest) War Crimes Recordings imprint, backed by "Grin With a Purpose."

Visually, the black and white clip is loaded with ominous images of skulls (both human and animal), swords, rocky landscapes and a masked-man pounding a tom-tom. If you feel like uniting with the group to fight, they'll be on tour throughout January and February. Solo sets from each member, including Neurosis' Scott Kelly and Eyehategod's Mike IX Williams, will be followed by a Corrections House performance. You can see the U.S. dates just above the video.
