Corin Tucker's "Middle-Aged Mom Record" Gets Release Date

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jun 8, 2010

Earlier this year, we reported that one time Sleater-Kinney front-woman Corin Tucker would be dusting off her guitar to release a solo album for Kill Rock Stars. We quoted her telling the Portland Mercury that she hoped "to finish recording and mixing by June, and then hopefully put the record out in October," and that the album is "definitely more of a middle-aged mom record." We're now happy to report that her album is indeed heading our way this fall.

Yesterday (June 7), Kill Rock Stars posted a bulletin announcing that the Corin Tucker Band were in the mixing stages of their debut album, with plans to release it October 5. And while we're hoping it will be a "middle-aged mom record," we can't imagine what that would sound like.

Either way, the Corin Tucker Band will follow the album's release with a run of West coast tour dates. For now, it looks like Canada will remain ignored, but the U.S. dates are below.

Tour dates:

10/7 Portland, OR - Aladdin Theater
10/8 Seattle, WA - Showbox
10/9 Eugene, OR - WOW Hall
10/11 San Francisco, CA - Great American Music Hall
10/13 Los Angeles, CA - El Rey
