Corb Lund and Ian Tyson Team Up for Cowboy Songs on Collaborative Canadian Dates

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 29, 2013

Corb Lund and Ian Tyson come from different generations, but both are Canadian singer-songwriters with a penchant for storytelling and country music. It's only fitting, then, that the pair will be teaming up for some Canadian shows in the coming weeks.

The short trek is branded "An Evening of Cowboy Stories and Song with Ian Tyson and Corb Lund." They first premiered this collaborative show last year for the centennial of the Calgary Stampede.

A press release promises that fans will "get to experience the camaraderie of a legendary Canadian folk music icon and one of the most prominent talents of the current generation of singer-songwriters for an unforgettable evening celebrating Western Canada in stories and song."

The five shows are split into two mini-legs — first a September jaunt in Western Canada and then a couple of November gigs in Ontario.

Beyond the collaborative dates with Tyson, Lund also has some solo shows coming up, including an appearance at Victoria, BC's Rifflandia festival. See his schedule below.
