Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertan's proved what it is to be Canadian when they took the Rifflandia Mainstage for an early afternoon set. Songs about Canadian whiskey, Alberta's oil money and, of course, a Stompin' Tom cover were perfect for getting the crowd dancing, and drinking. Lund, who was the founding member of Edmonton's hard rock/metal band the Smalls, has built a solid fan base since he began touring with his country tracks and many of those devoted fans were there singing along with songs like "The Gothest Girl I Can." By the end of the set even reluctant country fans couldn't help but be drawn in to the charm and clever lyrics of Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans.
