Container Readies Album for Spectrum Spools

Nashville, TN experimental multi-instrumentalist Ren Schofield has slowly been building a name for himself with numerous out-there releases on his I Just Live Here label, as well as with his God Willing project and many solo releases. However, he's now made a shift into beat-focused electronics with his new project Container.

Later this year, Container will release its self-titled debut via Editions Mego offshoot Spectrum Spools, the imprint helmed by Emeralds' John Elliott.

According to a press release, the album "glows with a vision all it's own, completely isolated and separate making it difficult to place in the awkward world of the 'genre.' The sounds are a thick stew congealing new ideas and naive experiments into something in the ballpark of the new super weird Wolfgang Voigt twelve-inches, abstract and minimal in nature with time stopping tendencies."

Container will be available on vinyl on September 13. More information on the release, including a pre-order, is available here.
