This crunchy 12-inch finds former Rhode Island noise maven Ren Schofield stumbling further down the noise-techno rabbit hole he helped to create when he unceremoniously dropped the first of two LPs on the John Elliott-curated Spectrum Spools imprint back in 2011. Racing along a trajectory similar to those of former Yellow Swan Pete Swanson and Neil "Astral Social Club" Campbell, Schofield immerses his beat research in chaotic clouds of debris and nearly shapeless globules of bleeping madness. The nearly unflagging propulsion and outright turbulent nature of these four tracks is perfect fodder for the likes of nascent Mute sub-label Liberation Technologies, which has already unveiled left field platters from Mark Fell, BMB and Vessel, to name but a few.

"Glaze" nearly obliterates itself in a blizzard of modem tones, while the pummeling jackhammer of "Slush" is sure to destroy both eardrums and braincells. A motorik pulse permeates the unrelenting "Complex" and the title track's rubbery beat dissolves in a heap of squealing analog weirdness, showing those stubborn noise kids that Schofield's still got it.
