Endless Echo

BY Denise FalzonPublished Sep 22, 2009

With their fourth full-length effort, Endless Echo, the Swedes in Construcdead have released another thrashing death metal album that's within the same realm as their previous work. But even though it's not Natural Born Chaos revisited, Endless Echo is a worthy album, including both melody and groove, which the band sonically weave through their viciously fast guitar riffs. As Construcdead's follow-up to 2005's The Grand Machinery, the clearest difference on the album is the vocals, provided by new member Jens Broman (Darkane, the Defaced). Broman's aggressive roars are his strongest attribute, while his clean singing falls flat, at times, except in the title track, where his cleans take on an ominous feel. The record's notable tracks include the heavy "My Haven," as well as catchy, groove-driven tunes "Disfigured Beauty" and "No Exit." However, Endless Echo is one of those albums that require a few listens before it can be appreciated.
