Constellation Records Unveils Musique Fragile Box Set

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 12, 2010

Why settle for one record when you can have three? That's essentially the question that Constellation Records is asking us with this morning's announcement (October 12) of Musique Fragile, a deluxe series of recordings set to be bound together as limited issue box sets.

While the label could have focused on individual album releases for Montreal-based les Momies de Palerme, Nick Kuepfer and Toronto's Khora, Constellation's decision to present all three together as Musique Fragile Vol. 1 has made the project all the more interesting.

Whether you pick it up as a CD set or on 180-gram vinyl, a lot of love and care were put into the set. Limited to 500 copies on each format, both versions of the package contain three hand screened 11"x22" posters, as well as a number of 5"x7" art cards. Each LP also features screen-printed jackets that are to be housed in a screen-printed chipboard slipcover box.

While there is something to be said about individuality, by combining each of these artists' gentle take on eclectic drone and experimental mood music, Constellation hopes that the sum of Musique Fragile is greater than its parts.

Musique Fragile Vol. 1 is set to be released November 1. You can have a look at the artwork and make pre-orders here.
