Conor Oberst's Desaparecidos Reveal First New Material in a Decade

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 1, 2012

Back in 2010, floppy-haired Bright Eyes leader Conor Oberst reunited his early 2000s emo-punk outfit Desaparecidos for a concert in protest of Arizona's state immigration policies. Now, following some more live engagements, the reunited band have announced their first new music in a decade.

Tomorrow (August 2), Desaparecidos will release a new seven-inch through their official website. The double A-sided single will contain two new tracks: "MariKKKopa" and "Backsell." The former is a politically charged track about Arizona's immigration laws that you can stream below [via the Huffington Post], while the latter concerns the major label music industry and is streaming at the Alternative Press.

The tracks will be available digitally and on vinyl, so check back to Desaparecidos' website tomorrow. Until then, see the band's U.S. tour schedule below.
