Published Mar 07, 2016German dark-folk songwriter Conny Ochs recently released his third studio effort Future Fables, and he's now revealed a video for album cut "Killer" to accompany the release. Exclaim! has got the exclusive video premiere.
Directed by Pietro Bondi, Ochs is shown alone in black and white, armed only with his acoustic guitar. A wealth of different layering effects and jerky camera work add an eerie sense of mystery to Ochs' slinky, blues rock-indebted tune. It was filmed in an empty garage in Italian suburb with a projector, black paint and five white sheets — the song itself serves as the final ingredient.
"He is a very particular photographer with a distinct eye on stories that wait to happen in front of him," Ochs tells Exclaim! "He is always searching for what lies in between pictures, and where they can lead one who finds himself longing for a promising adventure. I felt familiar with him from the first time i saw his works, both as a photographer and a videomaker. I feel it is a sort of escapism we both share. And the chance to create a path of breadcrumbs."
Future Fables is available now through Exile on Mainstream Records. Watch the black and white visuals for "Killer" in the player below.
