Comeback Kid

In a desperate effort to regain lost ground with the actual hardcore community after several years of releasing only bands who sound like Taking Back Sunday, Victory smartly signed this Winnipeg-based five-piece, who are on Smallman here in Canada. Thankfully, Wake the Dead delivers in the way Victory likely had hoped it would. Shrugging off current hardcore trends and sticking to what’s fast and loud, Comeback Kid don’t bother themselves with heavy metal riffage or non-stop breakdowns. Their songs kick right in and stay in high gear until the final note, never losing an ounce of the positive energy that drives the band. With a sound much like Kid Dynamite with more gang vocals, Comeback Kid offer up a record that may be nothing new, but will certainly keep you head-walking until the next time they roll into your town.
