Comeback Kid

'Coastal Frequencies' (live video)

BY Matthew RitchiePublished Jul 23, 2014

Co-presented by Exclaim!, Coastal Frequencies is a new Vancouver-based web series by filmmakers Justin Ludwig and Sean Patrick Shaul that merges high-quality concert footage with interviews to create documentary shorts on some of Canada's favourite bands. We've already seen a pair of instalments on Prairie rock group Rah Rah and long-running political punk outfit the Rebel Spell. Now, the BC-based filmmakers are shifting their focus towards Canadian hardcore legends Comeback Kid.

In this 15-minute-long clip, which was captured live at the all-ages and alcohol-free Vancouver venue Astorino's, watch as the courageous Canucks scorch through blistering renditions of their songs "Broadcasting," "G.M. Vincent and I" and "Losing Sleep," the latter of which can be found on their Exclaim!-certified LP, Die Knowing.

In between their album cuts, you can also find the group talking candidly about their rise from their basement rehearsal space, coasting by the screamo movement and leaving their mark on the Canadian music scene.

Watch the video in the player below, and keep checking back with Exclaim! for even more clips from the series.

If that's not enough, don't forget to check out our recent Exclaim! TV interview with Comeback Kid's Jeremy Hiebert here.

Coastal Frequencies is also presented in partnership with Become the Media and Prairie Coast Films. You can also contribute to Coastal Frequencies' Indiegogo campaign over here.
