Coma Recovery

Drown That Holy End in Wine

BY Stuart GreenPublished Aug 1, 2006

The Coma Recovery are a band that proudly take a left turn in Albuquerque — after all that’s where the five-piece band hail from. And take a left turn, they do. Utilising the production talents of These Arms Are Snakes’ Chris Common, the band have captured eight prog-tinged punk metal tracks that happily blur the line between pomp and passion, and flash and fury. The technical prowess displayed by the band, their lengthy songs and use of keyboards do nothing to deter from the angst at the heart of matters. The disc sits comfortably and easily in one of the most exciting and emerging sub-genres of the scene where bands like TAAS and the Blood Brothers reign supreme.
