Com Truise Reveals Galactic Melt Debut, North American Tour

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 6, 2011

While diehard fans of the Ghostly International imprint may have heard his work on the recent We'll Never Stop Living This Way compilation or from his Cyanide Sisters EP, chances are that New Jersey producer Com Truise (born Seth Haley) is a newcomer to most. That should change shortly, as he's getting ready to drop his first proper full-length.

The album is called Galactic Melt, and a press release explains that "Haley envisioned Galactic Melt as a 'sort of film score... from the mind,' chronicling the life and death of Com Truise, the world's first synthetic/robotic astronaut, from his creation and life on earth to his subsequent mission to a newly discovered galaxy called 'Wave 1.'"

We're not too sure exactly what that means in terms of how this record will sound, but Haley does go on to describe his music as "mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk." Album track "Cathosde Girls" can be downloaded here via Pitchfork.

Ghostly will release Galactic Melt on July 5. Surrounding that release date, Com Truise will team up with Glitch Mob for a slew of tour dates that include Canadian stops in Toronto and Montreal. All shows are listed below.
