Sax skronker Colin Stetson had a banner 2011, from issuing his critically adored New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges to jamming with Bon Iver and Feist, among others. And the horn player will continue his experimental journey on a new package tour with Arcade Fire's Sarah Neufeld and Devendra Barnhart collaborator Gregory Rogove.
Stetson will be hitting the road for a while to play some solo shows in Ontario and the U.S. this April, but the bass saxophone player will get together with violinist Neufeld and pianist Rogove down in L.A. on April 28 to start "The Alone Together Tour." Vancouver is the only Canadian city listed for the trek, but West Coast Canadians will get a double dose of Stetson and co., who perform at the Western Front May 5 and 6.
As the tour brand implies, the three musicians will each perform a solo set showcasing their unique styles, though who's to say there won't be the occasional onstage jam?
