Coldplay Announce North American Tour For Summer

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Feb 9, 2009

&fsDespite Joe Satriani breathing down their necks, the gentlemanly gents of Coldplay are again crossing the Atlantic for a North American summer tour. Come July, Chris Martin and co. will tenderly rock several U.S. cities, as well as one in Toronto on July 29.

For openers, Coldplay have roped in UK sibling act Kitty, Daisy & Lewis and their vintage rockabilly thing for all the North American dates, as well as Mercury Prize winners Elbow, who will take over for blind Malian outfit Amadou & Mariam mid-tour.

From the looks of things, the dates will be in support of Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, but with Coldplay recording with Eno again, who knows? Maybe they'll have some new tunes come tour time.
