Since signing with Matador last year, dark wave group Cold Cave reissued their excellent debut, Love Comes Close, and followed it up with the Death Comes Close EP. While it's unlikely that we'll be hearing anything new from the band anytime soon, Matador has revealed plans for a remix-laden single of Love Comes Close standout "Life Magazine."
The single will be available as a twelve-inch record, and will include remixes of the track from across the map. Lending their reworking skills to the track are Afrika Bambaataa and New Order producer Arthur Baker, Glasgow DJ duo Optimo, minimal techno dude Pantha Du Prince and noisemonger (and Cold Cave member) Prurient.
Matador will drop the twelve-inch on June 8. In the meantime, Pantha Du Prince's interpretation of the track is available here.
